The New Kibbutz Movement is the unofficial name for the new groups ('kvutzot') which are blossoming around Israel. These kvutzot are grassroots communities and movements which are renewing the socialist zionist vision of Israel. Internally they live in intentional communities, according to anarchic 'shituf' (sharing, cooperation, intimacy), whilst externally carrying out activist 'messimot' (missions, projects) which take responsibility for the needs of the wider society through social justice and education.
